As a school psychologist my job is to support my teachers to meet the needs of their students. We have kids from all different backgrounds that are in need of sensory materials. The weighted neck and lap pillow are an easy solution to decrease anxiety and fidgeting and increase comfort and focus. The journals and scented gel pens will be a great tool to use to keep communication journals with the students I see in counseling groups. I also run a mentoring program called My Brothers Keeper. This program is designed to help students increase their attendance which improves their learning and school connectedness. We have staff members who do daily check-ins with their mentees to build a relationship with them. The rings, bracelets, watercolors and canvas will be incentives for our mentees to continue with the program. We will have monthly drawings for students with the best attendance.
