STEAM education encompasses the processes of critical thinking, analysis, and collaboration in which students integrate the processes and concepts in real-world contexts of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. WEDO 2.0 would make it possible to offer projects geared toward students in grades 3 through 5. The project would allow students to create team-based robotic projects and would include their parents as members of the team. These kits would allow me to offer projects to older students and apply these projects to what they are learning in their science class.
The curriculum requested in the project would allow me to challenge students in new and creative ways. Students will experience hands-on, real-world application of concepts and theories in ways they have never had before. Students will use markets and paper to render a picture of their proposed project and will photograph their final project. Students will be able to "see" and "feel" what they are learning. What better way for students to really grasp what they are learning?
