This horseshoe group table will help students receive small group instruction in a comfortable but focused position. Every day, I meet with students, in a small group, to teach strategies during reading, writing, and math. Often times during small group instruction, we meet on the rug or borrow one of the student's tables to meet. When we are working on the rug, students are less focused, more prone to lay down and remain unfocused. They are not in the mindset of learning when they have their folders and other materials with them to learn. Things become disorganized for the students, and it becomes uncomfortable for them to properly write while on the rug. However, I have noticed that students are more eager to learn and focused when learning on a flat service with sufficient surface area to work on, like when working at a table. With a uniquely shaped table like this, small group instruction will run smoothly. Our students will confidently know where our small group meeting is held and more importantly, they will be learning more efficiently!
