Almost all of my students have Autism Spectrum Disorder, therefore sensory integration for their learning is absolutely key. We have very little resources to provide the sensory experience my students need, so having an amazing resource like an awesome water table will help provide the sensory input my students require. Having different stations with different sensory materials will help them satisfy their sensory needs so that they can stay regulated so that they can focus on learning rather than just on what their bodies are telling them they need as far as sensory materials go. Having the means to fulfill my students sensory needs helps me as a teacher be able to help them to reach their full potential.
