I push into the classroom to help special education students succeed. My students are in the 4th and 5th grade. They come from very low-income families. They all have different disabilities and needs. Most of my students have learning disabilities and some are autistic, emotionally disturbed, ADHD and have social issues. They love learning in different ways, especially with hands-on material. The Hot Dots math and language arts will allow my students that can't read very well use the pens to answer it for them. I also cook and give them food because they come to school hungry, so the microwave will be very helpful. I currently have students that need shoes and clothes and don't have their belongings launder very often, therefore, air wick would be nice to put in some of the classrooms. If I were given the opportunity to have my project funded you would not only be helping the students, but me as well. I have been teaching since 2000 and 19 of those years have been in special education because my heart goes to them.
