My students need a safe and soothing sensory room to take a break in when they become overwhelmed. Having a safe, quiet, and soothing space is essential in my school. Students can become overwhelmed by various noises, lights, and other students. I have asked for a bubble wall, lights, sound machine, tactile pillows and various sensory soothing items to utilize in the new room. It is important to provide a calming environment where my students can return to a productive state of mind and complete their daily work . The opportunity of a sensory room will allow them a calming experience and help them achieve their IEP goals by being productive when they return to class after a sensory break.
