All of my students have significant communication difficulties, which significantly impact the quality of their lives, as they are unable to express their wants, needs, and ideas with their loved ones, caretakers, family members, teachers, and community members. This challenge prevents them from being able to make basic requests (e.g., asking for food, bathroom, etc.) and impacts their learning and academic success. My goal as their Speech-Language Pathologist (speech teacher) is to give them a voice, provide them with a way to communicate, and give them access to the world around them in a meaningful way. Everyone deserves this fundamental human right, and I aspire to be the one to help my students truly. They desperately need access to an iPad and communication applications to build their communication skills!

About my class
