The ipad is very effective in the development and remediation of speech for children with autism spectrum disorder. It provides the most up-to-date communication applications. It will allow non verbal students the ability to communicate by typing text or using symbols that are translated to electronic speech. Apple has created an apps section called special education learning for everyone that provides features such as sign language development communication and emotional development and literacy and learning. The iPad would greatly benefit the language development of my students on the autism spectrum by enhancing their overall skills, speech and language and social skill development.
