Every morning, I greet my students at the door and inevitably one will ask me if we are going to use computers during class. I long for the day that I will be able to respond, "Yes!" This will be the day we have enough devices for each student to use in my fourth grade classroom. My goal in teaching is to create a classroom environment that fosters a love of learning and provides students with technologically-driven lessons which incorporate 21st Century Learning Skills to facilitate students in critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. In order to make my goal a reality, students need access to technology devices. I want to provide students opportunities to utilize programs that facilitate foundational skills such as i-Ready, IXL, and Khan Academy as well as a chance to collaborate with others to communicate knowledge acquired during research through presentation programs such as Office SWAY. Your generous donation of four HP-Stream Laptops will enable me to enhance instruction through the creation of technology based lessons that will pique students interest and motivate them to become successful life long learners able to compete in an ever so changing global economy.
