The WorkAbility program provides students with special needs the opportunity to obtain marketable job skills, career awareness, and career exploration while they're in school. Participants receive assistance in areas beyond job support, including disability and strengths awareness, transition planning guidance, and pre-vocational training. Our goal is to help our students gain skills to successfully transition into college, trade school, and/or a career as well as become successful contributors in the workplace, home, and their community. To do this, I work with High School students in small groups and 1:1 to guide them through this process towards growth and success. Students are most comfortable working with teachers in a relaxed, accepting environment, so it is my hope to create a space where students can share work space, sit together to discuss their experiences and support each other throughout their common goals.
