Our 4th-grade class will use these in our weekly MakerSpace style design center, as well as in a specific whole-class engineering unit. The ability to plan, manipulate, observe, and redesign in real-time is an invaluable experience for students. These programmable Cubelets will help my students explore the process of design and engineering....of trial and error, of data collecting, observation, and critical thinking. They are a critical piece of a highly engaging, experiential Science and Math learning process for the students of this small, amazing, rural school. On one level, these will address some key Next Generation Science Standards the students need to master. On another, they provide a flexible way for all learners to access their creativity and hone their problem- solving skills.
