Students face a multitude of stressful challenges daily. With the ever-changing world and societal changes, students are faced with life-impacting stressors. Very often students directly or vicariously experience trauma. Trauma in the form of poverty, loneliness, violence and a broken/shattered family unit is a normal part of life for my students. My students when given the opportunity to touch, use, and play games that encourage personal emotional growth and self-awareness learn to regulate their responses/reactions to challenging events, activities, and environments. A wide variety of Lego's, activities, games, and projects will best facilitate the engagement levels of negatively affected Elementary Students.
