As School Psychologists, we are on the front lines of providing mental health support to our high risk students. Our district has made cuts this year and inadequate funding is available to support our counseling needs. Our kids deserve better! Last year, 35% of our 11th graders reported feeling sad and hopeless. Shockingly, 19% of 11th and 12th graders in our district had thoughts of suicide. We need counseling materials to provide the best services possible for our students. These materials and supplies will help students learn new skills, gain greater insight and have a safe space to have their emotional needs nourished. They will learn friendship skills, how to manage depression and learn how to self soothe.
