It is very important for students in special education classrooms to have a comfortable environment and sturdy materials. Light filters help to reduce anxiety and laminate, Velcro and Play Doh always get used up in my classroom! Special education classrooms need special materials. My students are hard on their materials, so they need to be laminated. They also get used over and over again to teach the skill, so Velcro is a must! Sensory play is very important in my classroom. Something as simple as Play Doh, helps my students think better and calm down. Having light filters in the room, allows the room to feel more comfortable and safe!
