My students are curious, creative, and eager to explore and learn! They enjoy using technology for research projects in Science and educational Mathematics programs. I love to incorporate Brainpop, Nearpod, and other learning activities into my lesson. It is very hard to incorporate this technology into my classroom when I have 5 outdated laptops for 20 students. Having reliable technology is imperative to a successful engaging learning environment. Third grade is the first year these students are state tested (FSA). One way we prepare them for this test is through mathematical fluency practice and spiral reviews. My students are required to be at "tech" time for 20 minutes a day on a program called Reflex Math (educational fluency learning program online). However, the students hardly get 10 minutes on this program due to the out dated technology we are provided. It takes over 5 minutes for the computer to load to a log-in screen and another 5 minutes to log-on once the students have put their information in. Not having reliable technology is taking from my students learning opportunities. I would love to be able to get a few updated Chromebooks into my classroom to help my students excel in their learning!
