These wonderful learning tools will allow my students to work with a partner to learn and strengthen their skills with number concepts through 120. Having the ability to use these mats outdoors and allowing my students to "play" outside during math time would be awesome! Total engagement, collaboration, and developing speaking skills using academic language would be other benefits my students would attain if they had these mats. My students would also be able to practice addition and subtraction using number patterns on a grid. Learning new strategies with hands-on materials is a valuable resource for my English Language Learners. Another lesson that can be taught with this manipulative mat is to learn about ten more/less and one more/less. This game is interactive, teaches communication skills and total engagement of students.
