Do you remember your classroom carpet from elementary school? I do. I especially remember sitting on the area rug in the front of the room learning the alphabet, singing songs, learning how to count, and interacting with my peers, among other things. In Pre-k, children spend the majority of their day on the carpet. Each day we spend time on the carpet for our morning meeting, going over calendar routines, learning how to count, listening to, and telling stories, partner time, learning all about science and social studies, and the list goes on and on. Having a large, clean, bright, and inviting carpet for my students to sit on will make all the difference in the world for my students. If they have a new carpet, I know that they will be excited to run to the carpet each day, ready to learn.
