I’ve selected a wide range of high-interest novels that my students will be able to “check out” and read independently. They each will be able to pick a book of his or her choice to read daily. My goal for this coming school year is to get my students reading more, and to give them more options so they can find books that make them love reading. Reading independently will help build their literacy and comprehension skills over time. With a wider selection of novels, my students will be more likely to find something that interests them.
