This class set of books will allow students to hear stories about the climate crisis from a wide variety of people of all cultures and backgrounds. For a lot of my students, it can be difficult to relate to scientific literature because most of it is written by people who have had a vastly different experience of what it means to be a citizen of this planet. The wonderful thing about this book is that it is a collection of essays written by people of many genders, races, and backgrounds that highlights the severity of the climate crisis while also providing hope for the future. I especially love that several of the essays are written by young people which allows my kids to see that they are never too young to change the world.
