Learning centers are a big part of our day. It is important to keep kids' interests in mind and have a variety of materials in each learning center. I am trying to incorporate more STEM activities in my centers. STEM activities help kids problem solve, build, create, and imagine. These increase each child’s self-esteem, encourages cooperative play with peers, increases self-regulation all while having fun! Since I teach children with developmental delays, the items I have chosen are easily adapted to fit each child’s needs. In turn, each child can grow at their own pace and build on the skills they learn throughout each day.
