Our students are eager to learn and they love to engage in activities that help them experience the world around them. With this project, we are trying to provide our students with opportunities to experience the world around them through books. Our students have joined our Google Book Club in which they are tasked with reading a chapter book and create projects that target different reading skills such as summarization, imagery, inferencing/ predictions, and making connections across different texts. Our students will also write reflections on what they have read to help sharpen their writing skills. This is only possible if we have enough copies of chapter books so that all of our students are reading and engaging with the same book throughout the course of the school year. Reading is magical and with your help, we are excited to be able to instill the love for reading in our students. Thank you for consideration and support of our project!
