This project will address math deficits of the special education students in my class. These students have trouble visualizing algebraic and geometric concepts. The manipulatives and personal white boards will give my students an edge in achieving personal success in Algebra I and Geometry. The computers will be placed in a special location in the classroom and will serve as a math enrichment center where students will do assigned enrichment activities to help them master math concepts. Students will gain the ability to understand and master algebraic and geometric concepts through the combined use of manipulatives, white boards, and computers. All products will serve to aid in providing accommodations for students. They will work at least thirty minutes daily on the computers. Students will use the manipulatives to master concepts such as surface area/area, volume, perimeter and other concepts of shapes. This project will lead students to enjoy greater success in math by enabling them to have a concrete look at abstract concepts.
