A reading lab with all the furnishings sends a message to the students that their learning is a priority to me and a prepared atmosphere is just as important as a prepared lesson. I've chosen colorful aerial rugs to add softness to the room, bean bags for quiet time sitting, and book cases that will be used for organization and room petitions between learning centers. These furnishings will make a statement to the students that they have not been singled out to be picked on just because they are receiving extra help in reading. But, they are special and will not be left behind or allowed to fall through the crack. They will become lifelong avid readers.
