My students prefer writing their notes and activities in an interactive science journal vs keeping them digitally. Writing their notes allows students to draw and personalize them which increases their understanding and retention of the material. The copy paper is necessary to print guided notes. The glue sticks are necessary for them to paste their work into the interactive journal. Without this, students must rely on typing their information. This creates moments of frustration when they either have trouble with the technology itself (wifi issues, login issues) or because it takes them too long to draw and personalize their notes/information.
