This year we have not had a functioning document camera for projecting and presenting science experiments or creating science journals. I have had to walk around a HUGE science lab with a paper copy of my journal to demonstrate how they are to be put together since I have no way to project images. For many students it is difficult to see from the back of the room, and they need a constant visual of what we are doing to stay involved. Without the ability to see clearly what I am doing, many students get lost during the instruction. Science is highly visual and experiential - therefore, it calls for mobile equipment that enables the class to learn from prepared materials and from real-time examples of peer work. Students find it helpful to see successful examples of their classmates' work; this wireless document camera would enable me to move around the classroom effortlessly to display student work to the rest of the class throughout the lesson.
