I teach in a low social economic district that has been struggling to find ways to provide basic supplies for students and teachers each year. There are currently no funds to allow extra enrichment for our programs or curriculum. Through my position I work with all the district students in grades preK- second . Any of the the resources that are donated to my projects through Donorschoose are shared among the preK- 2nd grade population within our district. The social economic makeup of our community also doesn't often allow for our students to have much exposure to many things outside of our small town that we live in. Resources provided through the DC Projects give our students opportunities and experiences they very much need. Watching the sparkle in their eyes when they are getting new information is one of my greatest joys.
