Movement is essential in a classroom for all students. I aim for a classroom with multiple seating options in order to let students move, which research shows is optimal for stimulating the brain especially in young children. I would like to have hokki stools in my classroom for students who need movement in order to focus. I realize that I need a variety of seating options for this particular group of students, and I would like to provide movement stools for learning success and engagement. Stools allow for movement in the room, and offer a way for students to partner up and collaborate anywhere in the classroom. Hokki stools will add to a learning environment which is engaging and fun! My students would benefit from them physically and mentally throughout our day. I believe in a workshop style classroom where there is a wide variety of seating arrangements throughout the day. Hokki stools provide opportunity for students to move into different seating arrangements quickly and easily. The students form partnerships and groups for reading and writing workshop, as well as math practice and game playing. They would also be beneficial for students working on a countertop computer. Movement stools are essential in a classroom where moving provides opportunities to engage, focus, and attend to the tasks at hand!
