Students in my class deserve books that reflect their identities and give them the opportunity to learn about people who are different from them. I'm hoping to enhance our classroom library with books from diverse authors and with high-interest books that my students keep asking for! I also want to provide my Spanish-speaking students with the opportunity to read high-interest books in Spanish. In my class, I want to support my English-Language Learners to learn English while deepening their skills in their home language. If my students came to school and saw that we had all of these books in our library for read alouds and for them to read during independent reading time, I don't think I would be able to get them to put their books down!
