Students will be able to develop skills necessary to manage strong emotions. Students will also be able to develop skills needed for problem solving. Career books will be used to introduce younger grades to beginning career exploration. The books written by Julia Cook will help students improve social skills and open them to the world of work. Students will learn problem solving skills, self management, build better relationships with peers, and be be able to better communicate their needs. The books will be read to students by the counselor during classroom guidance lessons. Students will be able to talk about and do activities related to the books.
