I have many students who prefer to stand while doing their work instead of sit. Giving students an option for different places to stand and sit throughout the room allows them to make choices about how they are most comfortable and learn best. Instead of needing flexible seating, I need flexible standing! This will allow my students to move around as much as they need to without disturbing those sitting nearby. My students often "perch" in their chairs or stand and lean over their desks, and having counter height tables would be the perfect solution to address the variety of student needs in my classroom.
