My students must keep up with the latest advancements in techonology to spark an interest in mathematics. Education is changing every single day, and so are the expectations of my students. Students in my classroom like to learn new ways to discover solutions. My school has provided out dated graphing calculators for the students to use that do not have the same capabilities as the newer models.
Struggling students will often given up on math because the are unsure of their mathematical errors. Students who use TI-84 Plus CE graphing calculators find that the fraction capabilities and color, engaging and take away any gabs they may have had. Students who practice of graphing calculators find math fun and begin to try complex equations more for enjoyment! Helping students begin to learn why color coding equations can help them see solutions graphically. Graphing calcualtors are a gateway to helping my students be prepared for more advanced math and science classes in high school and college. My students will love getting their hands on latest technology.
