My students need basic lesson plans and principles in Physical Education. I plan to use these pedometers each week in Adapted Physical Education to 1) have students take responsibility for their own movement, 2) help them make distinctions between active play and inactivity, 3) Contrast different activities to find which takes more activity (steps) 4) Make and achieve personal goals for their own activity during my class. I also think that students will be more motivated to be active and participate once they know that they are tracking their own movement and possibly want to compete against their friends and teachers.
