Last month, our classroom suffered from flooding and water damage. The damage affected 80% of our classroom decorations and the window blinds. Because we are on the basement level of our building, our natural light changes often, and regularly using our harsh fluorescent lights can take away from the lessons we teach. The LED lights will help to minimize the use of electricity while also allowing us to use more of the natural light. A welcoming and warmly lit classroom helps to promote a calm and safe feeling for students, and in turn, will help them to focus better on their learning. Adding in the colorful sheer curtains can help us adjust the lighting in the room throughout the day to ensure students have sufficient ability to focus on their educational growth.
