These tools will give students more time for off-screen, hands-on, and enjoyable learning that they are missing during remote learning. When we are in-person at school we use magnetic letters or whiteboards every day. Students use magnetic letters to build their literacy skills through word building like identifying sounds and rhymes. They use whiteboards to practice writing or to get their ideas across in an informal and quick way or for a quick assessment. My students love using whiteboards and magnetic letters because they are hands-on, help them learn, and they're FUN! Right now, students are feeling bogged down with learning all of the new tech skills that they need in order to participate in online learning. It's exhausting! These materials will give students a relief from technology and will help them to feel more grounded in their learning. They will enjoy having these familiar tools in their hands once again.
