I am a 6th and 7th grade science teacher serving approximately 150 students a day. An average student at my school has a reading level between a 4th-7th grader and the majority of the students come from a low-income background. Many schools are being supplied with computer-like SmartBoards. However, my Science class will not be receiving one due to the lack of state funding. The students lack motivation due to the lack of supplies that can be offered at school and on my own pay, unfortunately I cannot afford all the supplies I would like for my students to have. I would like to help bring the world of advancing technology to my students who are sadly under-served at school and at home.
