Technology integration has continued to provide countless opportunities and abilities to students who must live with disabilities. The iPad that I have requested in this grant would provide my students the opportunity for an interactive education where they become integrated in the lessons and standards that they will learn. In addition, some of my student population have physical limitations: Some are not able to use their arm and hand functions to write or type their assignments. An iPad would be the only chance for these students to easily become responsible for their learning through the possibilities of assistive technology. The innovative applications on the iPad would allow me to teach the wide variety of grade levels and subjects as a supplemental aid to engage my students. On any given day, I will be teaching letter and sound recognition, multiplication, US history, English or career preparation. With this iPad, it would provide me an incredible opportunity to access state of the art technology to provide instruction to my students with appropriate accommodations they need, as well as interactive activities and lessons. I will provide my students the best quality education they can have and more than deserve to achieve academic success. In conclusion, this project will serve to provide the students on my caseload with access to technology which would not be available to them otherwise, given their socioeconomic and medical situations.
