Many of my students struggle with trauma and self-soothing techniques. The stress toys helps my students be present. Many also don't have enough money or food and I like to provide a healthy snack while they decompress in my office. The coloring books and sensory toys will help them when having a crisis and need to decompress. Many of my students don't eat when stressed, but offering a healthy snack in my office always helps them. The healthy snacks help give them energy since most don't eat lunch or have money for lunch or enough at home to carry them over to school.
