My students are freshman in high school. Most of them are reading at the first and second grade level and all of them struggle with reading comprehension. These students have struggled with reading for years. My students are hard working and want to improve their reading skills but they also want to read material that interests them. Like many schools, my school is also struggling in this economy and we do not have the funds to purchase additional resources. My students are in an academic program that focuses on Life and Vocational Skills in addition to working towards earning a high school diploma. As a teacher, it is very difficult to find materials that support both the Life Skills curriculum and the academic curriculum. The Attainment Series is needed to assist my team of teachers in aligning the Life Skills curriculum and the Academic curriculum. This resource will provide assistance to 6 teachers and over 50 students.
