Every day my students are asked to produce writing and they do a better job of being creative when they are allowed to sit around the room to write, but clipboards are messy and do not allow them to work to their full potential. The lap desk allow the students to sit around the room free of their peers and be creative without trying to balance bulky clip boards on their laps. We are working on writing Fables, Fairy tales, persuasive letters, friendly letters, opinion papers, and so much more this year in class. My students will not only be writing their stories but will be publishing and reading their stories to the class. They will also be sending out a persuasive letter via the mail in hopes of receiving a response. Every year we get between 2-3 responses from famous people the children have written to.
