My students are in need of iPads to complete the online portion of Orton Gillingham reading program. This program is designed to help struggling readers. It teaches them and reinforces pronunciation of letters and letter names. It also helps students learn letter sounds and combinations, which makes them better readers. This program uses a multi-sensory approach to teach reading. These iPads will be effectively used in my classroom as an instructional tool to improve literacy skills, specifically letter identification, letter sound correspondence, sight word reading, word reading and to develop their reading fluency. It will also be used to individually assess the students ability read words in isolation and in the context of a decodable text.
