The use of art and craft is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in science. Incorporating science standards and objective for guided practice and PBL projects will allow students to be more of a hands on learner. My students have a major project that requires them to use chemistry content learned to create fragrance candle, using wax and essential oil and tie-shirts while focusing on states of matter, physical and chemical change. The reality and problem are a lack of resources and materials. Project Based Learning is a key aspect in this career magnet program. Once the students have focused on the content of chemistry, they will then become entrepreneurs by selling their products. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student drive to learn, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand.
