My students will feel welcomed at our school by seeing all of their countries flags upon entering. This area will be used to stem conversations about cultural diversity. Our school will be seen as a place where students can learn about various cultures and be accepted by each other. Through pinpointing on the map the places our families are from, students will see the differences among each other and use this as an opportunity to share. We hope to utilize these resources during our multicultural literacy night in November in which our community members will be present. Each grade level will be focusing on our most prevalent cultures through books and activities. What a wonderful chance to celebrate our diversity!
