Our students come from low income homes. In their lives, they have had very few opportunities to get away from their neighborhood and experience the world. This trip will give them new perspectives on nature, science, friendship, teamwork, and the environment. Over the years, I have always been touched and impressed with the lasting impact that sixth grade science camp has on the students who get to participate. At science camp, the students get to go on hikes through the wilderness. They conduct different types of experiments and learn about nature and ecology. They also participate in numerous team building activities.
