I work with small groups of students and provide reading interventions in order to help them improve their reading skills. Our current setup, of desks arranged in a square, does not function well. Students need a table that accommodates all students in the group and that stays together and in one place while we are working together. This table will allow me to work closer to all my students especially during guided reading and writing. Having a practical space where I can focus on the reading needs of each student and also connect with my students on a personal level will make such a difference in our classroom! A welcoming, functional environment will not only enhance their skills but also inspire a love of reading they can take with them outside the classroom.
