I am looking to provide an e-Learning opportunity for my students on not only snow days as those are abundant in our area, but also for the students who may have missed class. A Swivl - a motorized stand that holds an iPad - will record the class around me as well as pick up my voice with ease. It follows my voice around the room and rotates to wherever I move so the video will show every part of what's happening in the activity. In a highly interactive and dynamic classroom, it's important that students are still able to access materials and activities on even the days where they are absent. Having this amazing technology in my room would allow me to create stories with my students without worrying about playing catch up with absent students, as they would be able to access the videos online. From my past experience, even the students who weren't absent enjoy re-watching their skits or the stories they've created. Many have found it to help with studying if they learn better through auditory methods than through visual methods.
