Students will use their knowledge of rhythms and pitches in a brand new way! Students will use their musical knowledge previously learned through their singing voices, singing games, body percussion, and unpitched percussion instruments and apply their skills to their very own recorder! Students will also begin their knowledge of and experience with woodwind instruments. This better prepares students for opportunities to pursue music in fifth grade band and beyond for a lifetime of music reading and music making. Lessons will include folk songs and other modern repertoire that reinforce concepts specified in grade level music curriculum and state and national standards of music education.
