With the funding of the blue and green flexible seating, my students will get to move out of their desks to a cozy place at our classroom library. Here they can engage in independent reading, partner reading, shared reading, and word study, which are 3 of the 5 components to building a balanced literacy program within the classroom. These seats will allow my students to be comfortable and relaxed while being engaged in READING! This will allow for them to move freely around the room and engage in literacy while I pull small groups for guided reading, which is the fourth component for a successful balanced literacy program.
