Every child learns differently, so why do we expect that they are all going to learn sitting in the same chairs? Just like adults, they get tired of sitting in the same chairs all day. They need more comfortable seating options to enhance student learning. Studies show that students learn better when they are physically active and comfortable. Students are able to bounce on an exercise ball, sit, stand, kneel, etc. Flexible seating options would give my students the freedom to sit comfortably and wiggle around without being a disruption to others learning experiences. This project would significantly help my students stay engaged in our learning throughout the day. I want them to feel comfortable and at home in our classroom. I cannot wait to see all of the things we can do with flexible seating!
