My classroom library desperately needs updating. We do 1st chapter Friday where I read aloud a chapter as a teaser and then students can sign up to check the book out. It's a great way to get even reluctant readers interested. Many of the books on my list have received either Iowa Teen Awards or Iowa Children's Choice Awards. That means that teens have nominated them! I love reading and want to instill this love of reading in my students. I want engaging books to help encourage even my reluctant readers to find a book. It is so rewarding to see when a reluctant reader finds a book that they enjoy.
