Many of my students have asked to make their own calm down jars. I keep four glass jars on my desk for them to come up and either shake and watch there or take back to their desk and watch the glitter fall. This would give my students the opportunity to customize their own as well as take it home and use it there if they feel themselves getting overwhelmed. I chose plastic jars so that when they get on the bus they are not carrying a glass jar. I think letting them customize their own jars would make them happy.
